Silaup Putunga is the Inuktut name for a split or tear in reality making travel possible outside normal time and space. Filmed in a remote area of Frobisher Bay in Nunavut in the Canadian Arctic, the film features Inuk performance artist Laakkuluk Williamson Bathory, and bridges the realms of the seen and unseen, drawing on myth, shamanism and the Greenlandic Uaajeerneq (mask).

Silaup Putunga is a commissioned work created in homage to the work of the two featured AGO exhibition artists, Kenojuaq Ashevak and Tim Pitsiulak and to their visionary works of Cape Dorset print art.
