Not many people realise that the Vancouver Biennale is privately owned and run as a for-profit venture with artworks sold to collectors at the end of the display period. I'm not saying that that is necessarily bad,.. just saying... its not the biennale model adopted by most other cities. Discuss among yourselves ;) I think I'd like to do more research on this... to understand it better. It seems successful. So how does it actually function as an Arts Organisation? Or is it Vancouver Biennale Inc?
